§         In general, and in support of the other supply chain personnel, provide a local focal point for all supplier quality and technical matters and to act in the supervision of any Contract QS engineers as may be assigned to the role from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
§         Responsibilities are carried out within a matrix structure environment whereby normal line management reporting is to the Engineering Support Manager but project reporting is to the Project Manager.  There is only min supervision by the Engineering Support Manager but all engineering resources are allocated to the project after consultation with the Engineering Support Manager.  The predominant responsibility is to the Project Manager. Duties on projects  included:-
 
    • Carrying out system tasks within agreed time scales and budgets and reporting system status and deviations to the Project Manager
    • Organisation & day to day management of the project engineering issues.
    • Client liaison – technical only all commercial aspects are dealt with by the PM
    • Commercial & contractual awareness to identify variations to order
    • Define technical responsibilities within the project - interfaces, system, work packages
    • Technical risk assessment Bid Vs Customer specification evaluation – assess impact on Project programme and deliverables
    • Monitor Project progress and deliverables through regular review meetings
    • Monitor timeliness of system reviews throughout the project

Responsibilities are carried out within a matrix structure environment whereby normal line management reporting is to the Team Leader, but product work reporting is to the Product Group Manager via the Senior Engineer.  There is a level of supervision of the engineer by more senior engineers.  The predominant responsibility is to the relevant Engineering Team Leader.
·                      Mechanical/hydraulic engineering duties on projects, including specification, design release for purchasing, build and test supervision, drawing supervision, documentation and reporting progress to Senior Engineer.  Approval of drawings up to a point of final approval by Senior Engineer.
·                      Familiarity and compliance with company procedures, project specifications and statutory regulations so that a standard approach design is adopted whilst satisfying customer requirements.
·                      Carrying out hardware tasks within agreed timescales and budgets and reporting status and deviations to Senior Engineer.
·                      Mechanical/hydraulic duties on bids, including technical write-up, material and manpower estimates.
·                      Support manufacturing on engineering issues.

JOB                            : QUALITY ENGINEER
SALARY RANGE       : RM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
§     In general, and in support of the other QA Personnel, provide a local focal point for all delegated QA matters and to act in the supervision of any Contract QA engineers as may be assigned to the role from time to time.
§     Prepare and issue for use, Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans and Certification Plans in order to ensure functional departments, especially engineering, procurement and production, are aware of contractual Quality requirements.
§     Liase with Customer and Third Party QA representatives in pursuance of and compliance with contractual obligations.
§     Conduct and report on internal audits in accordance with an approved audit schedule and issue NCR's (if any) resulting from these.
§     Coordinate the improvement actions for non conformance of products and processes
§     Conduct ad hoc audits or investigations into particular quality problems so that root causes are identified and effective corrective and preventive measures are put in place within the Management System
§     Evaluation and approval of potential suppliers prior to their addition to the Approved Vendor List (AVL) in order to maintain a supply base capable of supporting AKM's quality objectives.
§     Conduct audits of suppliers as required and/or to investigate particular quality problems to achieve the above requirement.
§     Provide guidance and general support and awareness training to all managers and supervisors (and others) in the operation, maintenance and continual improvement of the company's Operating System 
§     Assist in the maintenance and revision as required, of AKM's processes and procedures relating to Quality Assurance core capabilities.
§     Assist with provision of periodic reports on the OS performance indicators and trends.
